Roxy is the former owner of Smiling Dog and currently teaches a variety of classes and workshops at the studio. It is her passion to help people become healthier, happier versions of themselves in all ways and she hopes to meet you on the mat soon!
Her students usually call her classes strong and yummy. She teaches a variety of classes, from Hatha Yoga to Vinyasa Yoga to YOBarre. Roxy worked with Studio Owner Stephanie Jennings to help launch YOBarre classes at Smiling Dog in summer 2016. She says "YOBarre was the challenge and change I needed to help my body really recover from giving birth. I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life thanks to YOBarre and Smiling Dog!".
Roxy's been teaching yoga since 2008. She has trained with Iyengar Yoga, Baptiste Power Yoga, and is a certified Prana Flow Yoga instructor (E-RYT 200) which is where she's been spending most of her time studying and practicing since 2009. She's currently working on her RYT 500 hour yoga teacher training certification with Prana Flow Yoga and Shiva Rea.
In addition to her work with Smiling Dog Yoga, Roxy also oversees Client Education at MINDBODY, Inc. and moonlights as a as a Consultant to wellness businesses. Roxy loves spreadsheets and teaching. She has experience in management, event planning, customer service, database programming, and lecturing at the university level. She grew up in Detroit, Michigan and loves using her hand as a map whenever she gets the chance. Just ask. Check out her blog for yoga inspired rants.
