The discovery of Batty and Ratty living in deplorable conditions was a heart-wrenching sight. These poor dogs had been deprived of basic necessities such as water, food, and shelter. To make matters worse, ropes and wires were tightly wound around their necks, causing them immense pain and discomfort.
At first glance, one might assume these dogs were strays, but shockingly, they had owners who callously neglected them, leaving them chained outdoors. Thankfully, the dedicated rescuers from Sidewalk Specials were able to persuade the owners to surrender Batty and Ratty.

Upon arrival at the veterinary clinic, the dogs underwent thorough evaluations. The results were distressing. Both Batty and Ratty were diagnosed with anemia, mange, malnutrition, and bite fever. The extent of Batty’s suffering was even more severe as one of his rear legs had been broken for nearly a year. The doctors had no choice but to amputate the injured leg to alleviate his pain.
Now under the care of Sidewalk Specials, Batty and Ratty are in need of a loving and permanent home where they can finally experience the care and compassion they deserve.
