Introducing you to the adorable feline duo, Hansel and Gretel. These two siblings have had a difficult past, having been rescued from a dire situation. They were once stray cats who lived off whatever they could find behind a grocery store dumpster, constantly battling hunger and malnutrition.

A heartless individual intentionally sprayed poisonous substances at them, with the intention of causing harm. According to onlookers, Gretel fearlessly intervened and shielded her sibling with her own body, preventing him from being injured. She bore the brunt of the attack in an effort to safeguard her brother.
A kind-hearted individual brought the cats to a nearby shelter where they sought assistance from Sarah Richardson of Community Cats of Central Arkansas. Known for her expertise in rescuing critically ill felines, Sarah readily welcomed Hansel and Gretel into her home. Despite feeling sad for their plight, Sarah felt grateful that they were now under her care.
Sarah is committed to supporting Gretel in her journey towards complete recovery. Although it will be a challenging road ahead, Sarah is determined to provide Gretel with all the love, medication, treats, and wet food she needs. With the worst now behind them, both Hansel and Gretel can finally relax knowing that they are in good hands. At first, the two cats were understandably shy and fearful, but with Sarah’s care and attention, their anxieties soon disappeared.
When these cats were initially rescued, they exhibited somewhat wild behavior. However, over time, they have become the most affectionate felines under our supervision. Gretel, in particular, has made significant strides in her emotional healing. Despite the mistreatment she endured, she continues to love and have faith in humans without reservation. According to Sarah, Gretel is currently the most cherished foster cat in our care.
Gretel is a lovable dog who craves affection and expresses her gratitude by giving sweet nudges and kisses. She’s also a very protective sister to Hansel, and he returns the favor by being fiercely protective of her too. They have an unbreakable bond, and their sibling love is evident in how they care for each other and provide each other with comfort.
Sarah expressed her amazement at the strong bond between the two cats and mentioned that they will only be adopted as a pair when the time comes. While it may be a challenge to find homes for them together, Sarah firmly believes that it is worth the effort. On the other hand, Gretel’s recovery process is proving to be quite challenging. She needs constant medication and regular vet visits, but she is bravely facing it all.
According to Sarah, cats like Gretel are the inspiration behind our rescue efforts. She deserves another shot at life, and we’re determined to provide it. As part of our Meow Mail initiative, Gretel is our featured cat for the month. We need donations to ensure that she receives the necessary food, supplies, and medical attention for her ongoing care. If you donate $10, we’ll send you a unique letter detailing how your contribution has impacted Gretel’s life. We encourage you to make monthly donations so that you can receive updates on other cats and kittens who are receiving the critical care they need. Let’s work together to make a difference in the lives of these animals.
Sarah expressed her gratitude to all those who have contributed to the welfare of their injured and sick cats. She believes that their continuous support is the driving force behind their success in rescuing several felines.
