A 10-month-old black and white cat named Ivan has not received any adoption inquiries since he was brought to the MSPCA-Angell shelter in Jamaica Plain two weeks ago. Despite the constant flow of visitors to the shelter, Ivan’s physical handicap appears to be hindering his chances of finding a new home. Sadly, Ivan was born without radial bones in his front legs and is missing two toes on each paw. Additionally, his left hind leg is also deformed, making it difficult for him to walk. As a result, Ivan tends to “army crawl” on carpeted surfaces to get around. Despite his physical limitations, Ivan’s personality shines, according to Alyssa Krieger, the adoption center manager. She believes that Ivan deserves a second chance with someone who can see beyond his disability and love him for who he is.
Fortunately, Ivan – also known as “Ivan the Twisted” on Instagram – has gained quite a following and is loved by many. Unfortunately, he has yet to find his forever home. Despite his physical limitations, Ivan’s charming personality shines through, according to the MSPCA. He craves affection and attention, and is an absolute delight to be around.
