Girl 13-Year-Old Uses Birthday Money To save 14 abandoned Kittens

The Cat

A kind-hearted animal lover, 13-year-old Lucinda, saved the lives of 14 stray kittens using her own pocket money.

While riding her bike along the Moonee Ponds Creek track, she spotted five stray kittens in distress and couldn’t resist their cuteness.

She went back home to get a laundry basket to collect them but was surprised when nine more kittens ran towards her, making a total of 14 kittens she took into her care.

Lucinda contacted the Lort Smith Animal Hospital to seek help, and they welcomed her new feline friends despite the hospital already being inundated with hundreds of kittens during the “kitten season.”

She used $50 of her birthday money to pay for a taxi that took the kittens to the hospital where they will receive proper care before they are put up for adoption to find their furrever homes.

Lort Smith’s CEO, David Herman, reminded people not to abandon animals as the hospital is overflowing with kittens during this time of the year.

That Lucinda’s act of kindness has inspired people to give back and support the hospital that helped the kittens.

The fact that someone offered to give her money back and another person offered a reward shows how much her story touched people’s hearts. And the fact that Lucinda’s family chose to donate the money to the hospital instead of keeping it for themselves is a testament to their values and the kind of person Lucinda is raised to be.

It’s wonderful to see how a small act of kindness can inspire others to do the same and create a ripple effect of compassion and generosity. It’s heartwarming to see the impact of Lucinda’s act of kindness on the community, as people continued to support the Lort Smith hospital and its efforts to help animals in need.

Lucinda’s selflessness and compassion serve as an inspiration to others, and it’s a testament to the positive influence parents can have on their children when they raise them to love and care for all beings in need.
