It’s not uncommon to hear stories about cats being abandoned or left behind by their owners. Unfortunately, this is a harsh reality that many cats have to face, often through no fault of their own. This was the case for a cat named Brutus, who found himself alone and fending for himself after being abandoned. Although we don’t know the specifics of his story, fate had something extraordinary in store for Brutus. In 2014, he was fortunate enough to cross paths with a loving human who welcomed him into his forever home.
Brutus is a one-of-a-kind cat with a personality that shines through in his photographs. Despite being around ten years old, this handsome tuxedo cat spends his days striking poses for the camera and doing whatever brings him joy. With his charm and undeniable cuteness, it’s impossible not to fall in love with Brutus at first sight.

Brutus, a charming feline on Instagram, portrays himself as a hunter of mice, a demolisher of food bowls, and an aficionado of snoozing. His human parents rescued him in 2014, and he intends to remain with them for the duration. I had the opportunity to speak with his owner about Brutus and ask a few questions. And let’s be honest, who hasn’t fallen in love with that fetching face?
Can you share your experience of meeting Brutus for the first time?
I had the pleasure of meeting Brutus after he was abandoned by his previous owners who had relocated. He was brought to AARF for medical attention and adoption by a kind-hearted former neighbor. His unique name caught my attention, as I am a history major, and I decided to take him home.
What is Brutus’ character like?
Brutus, who I fondly refer to as my feline child, is a demanding yet loving cat. He loves receiving constant attention and enjoys being cuddled and petted. He is a great snuggle buddy, and even strangers can’t resist his charm. Although he is naturally curious, he doesn’t find much interest in playing with toys or catnip. Instead, he prefers spending his time napping on my lap. Despite having a cauliflower ear and being prone to ear infections, Brutus continues to bring joy to my life.
Similar to many other tuxedo cats, Brutus tends to have a bit of a personality. He is always eager to be the focus of attention and to be crowned as the most superior feline in the vicinity. If you find yourself captivated by his amusing behavior, don’t forget to keep up with his adventures on Instagram. Additionally, if you know of any fellow cat enthusiasts, don’t hesitate to share Brutus’ story and pictures with them. Interestingly, a recent study done on tuxedo cats discovered that having a certain cattitude is not an uncommon trait among them.
