She wept tears of relief after having the massive tumor that had plagued her for her entire life removed.

According to The Penguin, When Nina came to Wright Way Rescue in late November, she was a cruelty confiscation from North Memphis. She had a 13lb tumor hanging from her abdomen, as well as two more smaller tumors down her left mammary chain.

She was thin, suffering from a high temperature, and she had a terrible skin infection on her haunches and tail. It was a nerve-racking process to prepare her for surgery, knowing that every day that passed increased the risk of the tumor rupturing.

Left with a grim, ugly face after being beaten badly, the dog was extremely lucky to be cared for and loved by its new owner.

It was crucial, however, to take the time to see the relevant veterinary specialists and to complete all the testing and pre-surgical care she needed. Doctors also had to bring her weight up so that she could endure the anesthetic.

All these attempts were to boost her prospects of surviving a surgery that was likely to require major blood loss and also had a higher than usual fatality risk. And it worked!

On December 8th, Nina went in for major surgery, and she came out with flying colors.

When she had sufficiently healed from surgery, she went to one of Wright-Way’s outstanding medical foster families, where she has been flourishing!

Post-surgical biopsy findings indicated that the smaller tumors were benign and not unexpectedly, the larger one was a soft tissue sarcoma.

All indicators are pointing to a healthy recovery, and she will soon be ready to find her permanent home. Finally, Nina has a caring family where she is cared after and adored.
